Cost and timeline control
At Unither, responsible purchasing is an integral part of our overall CSR strategy. It serves as a key driver of sustainable performance in the pharmaceutical industry, enhancing the quality, resilience, and sustainability of our operations in collaboration with our suppliers.
Our Responsible Purchasing Policy, shared with all our partners, is built on five key pillars:
1.
Cost and timeline control
2.
Supply chain reliability
3.
Compliance with quality and regulatory standards
4.
Innovation capability
5.
Integration of social and environmental criteria
Fair selection based on objective criteria
Rejection of illegal labor and child labor
Business ethics: fight against corruption, confidentiality
Environmental responsibility: regulatory compliance and resource efficiency
Extending CSR requirements throughout the subcontracting chain
Each site is encouraged to prioritize local suppliers whenever possible, in order to:
Reduce transportation-related emissions
Strengthen logistical resilience
Support local ecosystems
In France, local production also allows us to benefit from low-carbon electricity: around 50 gCO₂e/kWh, compared to a global average of approximately 445 gCO₂/kWh. This French energy characteristic further reinforces the value of local purchasing, reducing the carbon footprint of our pharmaceutical production while relying on recognized industrial expertise.
