Our history
1993
Established on November 29, 1993, following the acquisition of a Sanofi plant. The company initially specialized in the production of sterile polyethylene single doses such as saline solutions, asthma products, and eye drops.
1995
Blow Fill Seal (BFS) technology was used, which allowed the production of sterile doses in a single manufacturing step.
1997
The company expanded into global markets, with exports throughout Europe and the development of commercial, operational, and regulatory capacities for international clients.
2002
Unither Pharmaceuticals acquired a second plant in Coutances (France) for the production of sterile single doses.
2005
In 2005, Unither Pharmaceuticals sought to continue its development by acquiring Créapharm, a French contract manufacturer that specialized in effervescent tablets and operated a third-party development center in Bordeaux.
2006
The launch of Unistick® stick packs for liquid and pasty forms marked a major step forward in our single-dose stick offering.
2009
Unither Pharmaceuticals took over the Colomiers site from Sanofi to develop liquid stick pack technology, and expanded the range of products that can be sold as single doses.
2010
Launch of Uniflash®, a new patented buccal transmucosal (BTM) drug delivery system with comparable efficacy to an intravenous solution.
2011
The company expanded internationally with the opening of an office in Brazil.
2013
Unither Pharmaceuticals continued its international growth by acquiring a U.S. plant from the Belgian pharmaceutical group UCB in Rochester.
2015
Unither Pharmaceuticals strengthened its presence in South America by acquiring a Brazilian CDMO: Mariol Industrial in Barretos.
2016
Creation of a Unither Pharmaceuticals’ subsidiary in China: Unither Pharmaceutical Technologies (Wuhan) Co LTD.
2017
Transformation of the Gannat site with the launch of saline solution production.
2019
First commercial BFS batches in Rochester.
2020
Launch of preservative-free multi-doses in Coutances.
2020
Acquisition of the Unither Nanjing Pharmaceuticals plant in Nanjing, China.
2022
Acquisition of the Novartis plant in Butantã, São Paulo.
